Cheese and onion pie with broccoli and cauliflower

Very tasty and easy-to-prepare pie. It perfectly combines sandy friable paste and savory cheese-onion filling.



  • 250 g of butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Sour cream or mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. Flour with a slide
  • 0,5 tsp. Salt


  • 3 large onions
  • 200 g of a mixture of cauliflower and broccoli (I have frozen)
  • 1 egg + 1 protein
  • 2 tablespoons Sour cream
  • 150 grams of hard cheese
  • Salt, pepper to taste

1 yolk

Sesame (optional)


Cooking method:

Step 1

Slightly softened butter or margarine rub with salt, egg and sour cream until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

Step 2

Add the flour and knead the soft dough. Send it to the fridge while preparing the filling.

Step 3

Onions finely chop and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. Then add the thawed broccoli and cauliflower. If they are fresh, they must first be boiled in salted water until half cooked. Fry them all together on a small fire for about 5 more minutes. Add salt, pepper to taste, but do not forget that the filling will still be cheese, which is also salty.

Step 4

In a separate container we rub cheese on a large grater, add sour cream, egg and protein. The yolk is left to lubricate the top of the pie.

Step 5

We add here the contents of the frying pan. We carefully mix everything to homogeneity.

Step 6

Take out the pastry from the refrigerator. Divide it into two unequal parts. 2/3 of the test will go to the formation of the bottom and walls and 1/3 leave for the top of the pie. Dispense the majority of the pastry with hands in the form for baking. I have a round diameter of 23 cm. I lay the bottom of the form with paper, so that it is easier to take out the pie, I do not lubricate the side. Do not forget about the side, it is better to make them higher.

Step 7

Spread the filling on the pastry. Bend the excess edges of the bows to the dough.

Step 8

Roll on paper or silicone mat the remaining dough into a circle with a diameter larger than the pan. Using paper, a rug transfer the dough and lay it on the filling. The edges of the circle are folded inside the mold, closing the filling. Lubricate the surface of the pie with yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Often pricked with a fork.

Send the cake to the oven heated to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Take care that the cake is not burned, but blushed.

Step 9

Put the warm pie on the dish and can already begin the meal.


It is very tasty both in warm and cold form. But a cold pie is cut better. Enjoy your meal!
